Hello all,
Â
March has been busy and I wanted to give an update on membership and license cards! I also have a few other bits and pieces to cover, too.
Â
2025 Membership and License Card Updates:
Good news, MSR recently completed another major milestone for the SWMS 2025 membership and SWMS/VMC licensing update project. The graphic design and content for our new membership and license cards are now complete and I think they turned out nice. For those who have renewed for 2025, your membership and/or license cards are now available online! Click the button below for directions on how to view and print your cards.
Long term, we are working with MSR to arrange professional "minting" of plastic cards, which are planned to be mailed out automatically from MSR. There are still a number of steps for SWMS to work though to prepare for the mailed, plastic cards. Timing is still probably a few weeks to months for the professional cards, so if you need proof of your membership or license, feel free to print from your online profile.
As always, if there are any issues or questions, please email contact@swms.org and we will get things sorted.

Suika Circuit and Motorland Fest:
MotorLand Fest Round 1 was a great start to the 2025 sports car racing season here in NM! More cars than I can remember and plenty of 'new season' energy. If you haven't been out to Suika Circuit recently, I encourage you to register and come out driving or racing. The facilities, atmosphere, and general zest for motorsports are fantastic. We are fortunate to have the Suika Circuit team working hard to take care of and grow our local track!
MotorLand Fest Round 2 is April 12th and 13th, registration is live via Suika Circuit at MSR.

March Board Meeting Recap:
The new 2025 SWMS Board is busy working to further organize, update, and reinvigorate SWMS! A few of the things discussed and to be worked on this year:
Online membership and SWMS/VMC licensing, where members have direct access to status and cards. Good progress to date.
2025 Technical Inspections, available most race weekends. We are trying our best to complete technical inspections for anyone and everyone who would like one according to the SWMS/VMC rulebook.
Process and procedure updates. It's been a quick minute and we need to ensure the SWMS way of business in 2025 matches our published formal documents. We are starting by surveying our current procedure sets to note where revisions and updates are needed.
We also plan to do a major overhaul and refresh of our website this year.

Other Announcements:
If you have one of the AMB red, battery powered transponders that needs a new battery, a few members have had good success getting battery repairs made by this place:
You may have noted that the road out to Suika Circuit now has speed cameras to help encourage everyone to follow the posted speed limits.
Suika Circuit General Manager and all-around good guy, Eric, invited SWMS to bring a few cars to the Rich Ford Anniversary Car Show on Saturday, March 29th. It will be at the Rich Ford dealership, from 8am to 4:30pm. Reach out to Eric at ericlamar.oji@gmail.com for the full details on day-of parking, trailer unloading, and staging if you are interested or have any questions! This a great way to share what SWMS is all about with other car-minded people.

I am excited to make the most of what looks like excellent spring racing weather and I hope to see you out and about at a Suika Circuit track weekend soon.
