Starting with the August 2008 Event there will be a supplementary workers drawing for those Course Marshals who work both days. You must be present to win.
Interested in being a Course Marshal? Can’t race this weekend but are interested in the racing scene and making some great friends?, please consider working a corner. Contact Ken Martin, chiefworkers@msn.com , or Larry Haynes, Phone: (505) 670-3949,Email: lhaynes@hughes.net .
Course Workers have the respect of the racers. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "never have so many owed so much to so few." Without the corner workers and course marshals, there would be no racing. We can have the cars, we can have the gas, we can have the timing, we can have the track...but without the corner workers we'll all just be sitting in the paddock.
Course workers are well rewarded! You get free lunch, banquet bucks (good toward our reknowned end-of-the-year party), and chances to win valuable prizes!
Corner Workers have the “best seat in the house.” Bring a friend who can help! to watch the racing excitement and earn the racers’ eternal gratitude! It's a great way to see - and be part of - the action.
New for the August Event. SWMS will provide porta-potties for the course workers at Corner Stations 3, 6, and 8/14. No more "holding-it" for four hours at a time. We want our corner workers happy and safe.
