Hello to all of my fellow SouthWest MotorSport members. If you weren’t at the
last SWMS event, June 13-14, then you missed some of the best racing we have
We had a large field of Vintage cars and Open Wheel cars. Gordon Self and Fred Cordova put on quite a show for everyone by swapping the lead several times in the Vintage Car class. Fred won on Saturday with Gordon turning the tide by winning on Sunday. The other very exciting show was put on by Lyle Greenberg and Sean Guthrie in the Open Wheel class. Lyle was able to win both days but Sunday he was able to win a hard fought battle with his son-in-law, Sean Guthrie.
We had an excellent field of cars but we always want more of you to come out and race. Our next event is the 14th Deutsch Marque which will be on August 15-16, 2015. Race Chair Jerry Stoughton has told me the weather will be outstanding and the racing will be great. You have five more weeks to get your cars race prepped and your registrations in for this great weekend. There is a change on the registration form for all of you campers. If you are going to be hooked up to electricity at the track, we will be collecting that money with your registration. I look forward to seeing a great group of cars and drivers out. Make sure to get all of your fellow competitors out so we can continue to have spirited racing.
Check out the race results on this site to see where you stand in points for the year. Sean Hearne is doing a great job of getting the points out early and Jarrett is getting them up on the website as soon as possible after each event. I don’t know if most of you know about the “Classified” section to our website. Yes we do have a “Classified” section, albeit, doesn’t have anything advertised for sale. Make to make use of this part of our website and you might find a buyer for things you want to clean out of your garage. Make sure to contact Web Master, Jarrett, to get your advertisement listed as soon as you can. I am looking forward to seeing you at the races in August.
Happy motoring to you all and drive safely……
