  1. Is SWMS a just vintage club?
  2. We have contemporary and vintage car racing classes along with production car high performance driving clinics.

  3. Can I just come out and drive the road course without racing wheel to wheel?
  4. Yes. We run a lapping only group with each race weekend.

  5. What type of safety equipment is required for lapping only?
  6. Standard original equipment-seat belts. Cotton long sleeve shirt, cotton long pants, leather shoes and gloves plus a '90 Snell helmet.

  7. How do I get a Competition License?
  8. Obtain a Driver & Car LogBook from our LogBook Registrar. Complete one SWMS Driver's School, and 2 incident-free SWMS race weekends.

  9. How do I get a Rule Book?
  10. Go to our website-www.swfllS.Org or contact any club officer.

  11. How often do you have Driver's Schools?
  12. We offer driver's schools at each event weekend.

  13. How much track time do we get?
  14. The event Stewart will determine

  15. Where do I get entry forms?
  16. Visit our website or contact the club Registrar.

  17. What time is Registration open? Will there be a Friday check-in?
  18. The date specific registration times will be posted on the website and registrants will be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed event specific data.

  19. What will I need at Registration?
  20. At Registration you will need to show your SWMS membership card, State driver's license, Driver's LogBook, and sign the medical release verifying your current capability to participate in the event.

  21. What are the accommodations at the track (RV spots? Hook-ups?, etc)? What are some of the nearby Motel/Hotels and restaurants?
  22. Our website will have answers to nearby lodgings. The Albuquerque Convention and visitors Bureau has a website listing attractions and activities in the area.

  23. What is the cancellation policy?
  24. Entrant cancellation policy is on the entry form. "Total reimbursement of race fees will be issued IF registrar is notified of cancellation no later than Wednesday evening before event starts, after that fees will be forfeited."

    IF SWMS cancels an event, all pre-entries will be refunded in full. Event cancellation will be advertised no later than Wednesday before the event.

  25. What is the late fee charge? Will that be strictly enforced?
  26. Per the 2002 entry form-there is NO late fee, however, there is a discount if the entry is postmarked at least 2 weeks before the event.

  27. Is there a reduced entry for two-driver cars? For two-car drivers?
  28. The entry fee is for one driver/one car combination. (Meaning 2 drivers one car is 2 entries, one driver 2 cars is 2 entries)

  29. What are the Pit Rules?
  30. The Pit rules will be on the website and will be a part of the registration package sent to entrants.

  31. What do we need to submit to the club to get a Driver's Log Book?
  32. Completed Medical Form (by your physician)

    Applicant's Medical History (completed by applicant)

    Completed Application

    2 photos of self no larger than 4" X 5" - we need one for our files and one for your book

  33. What is required to get a Car LogBook?
  34. Completed application for Car Eligibility

    4 photos - 2 each of front 3/4 view and rear 3/4 view. One set for is for the SWMS file and one set will go into your Car LogBook.

  35. I have a driver and Car LogBook from another club. Am I required to get one from SWMS?
  36. You are not required to get a book but strongly encouraged to do so. At this time, we are accepting books from other clubs but the tech inspectors will have to review them more closely than they do our books. You can save yourself time before the races.

    Additionally, we are trying very hard to keep this club active. Your contributions will help us continue to operate in the black.

  37. I have "reserved" a number for my car with SWMS but to date have not applied for a Car Log Book. How long can I expect that number to be saved for me?
  38. A car number is "reserved by payment of the Car LogBook fee and current membership.
